ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN — A renowned banker and social worker, Rasheed Alam Farooqi, has showered praise on the efforts of Al-Khidmat Foundation in providing relief and support to those in destress in Pakistan and around the world.
The foundation, established in 1990, is the largest non-governmental welfare organization in Pakistan, currently working in 150 districts across the country.

Rasheed Alam Farooqi credited the foundation’s success to the late Nimatullah Khan Advocate, former city nazmir of Karachi and former president of Al-Khidmat, who made the organization synonymous with “unceasing, unparalleled and indiscriminate service.” Farooqi also praised the current leadership of the organization, including Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, President of Al-Khidmat Pakistan, and Muhammad Abdul Shakoor, Vice President of Al-Khidmat Pakistan, for their dedication to the service of humanity.

Al-Khidmat Foundation provides a range of services in areas such as education, health, orphan care, clean water, interest-free loans, social services and disaster prevention. During times of crisis, the foundation has been instrumental in providing relief and support to those affected, including victims of earthquakes, floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Farooqi emphasized the foundation’s commitment to serving all, regardless of their race, religion, language or geographical location. He suggested that the Pakistani government should recognize the organization’s immense social service by awarding it the country’s highest honor.

Al-Khidmat Foundation’s humanitarian work has earned it a reputation as a revolutionary force in welfare not only in Pakistan but also around the world. The foundation has given a new lease of life to countless orphans and destitute children, and has provided support to those in need in ways that the government has not been able to match.
Despite the passing of Nimatullah Khan Advocate, his legacy and the organization he helped build will continue to live on in Pakistan, through the ongoing work of Al-Khidmat Foundation.
